In order to strengthen the areas identified in its strategic plan, the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna intends to promote the creation of positions of researcher, associate or full professor for candidates engaged in research activities at the international level. The University of Bologna intends also to encourage the number of visiting professors who come to Bologna for periods of one to six months to develop new research projects and increase the opportunities for international collaborations.

The Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna launches the 2019 Call for Interest to promote the creation of new positions of Researcher, Associate or Full Professor for candidates who are in an equivalent position and are engaged in research activities at the international level; it launches the Call also to collect requests from professors from universities around the world to come as visiting professors in Bologna for periods of one to six months.

Those who participated in 2018 can send their expression of interest as long as their CV contains significant new elements, or if they want to participate in the Call by applying as a visiting professor.

Interested candidates should have published articles in high impact factor journals for bibliometric areas, or books and chapters with publishing houses widely recognized as prestigious for non-bibliometric areas.

Particular attention will be paid to the ability to coordinate competitive research projects, and principal investigators of ERC research projects are particularly welcomed, as well as candidates with a previous record in attracting funds and in public engagement activities.

Teaching experience will also be taken into account, with regard to its quality and students’ evaluation.

The University of Bologna has also recently created two new interdepartmental centres, one on artificial intelligence and one on climate change.
