Training school on Cartan Geometry

Following speakers have agreed to provide the mini series of lectures

  • Boris Doubrov (Minsk), Cartan geometry via exterior calculus
  • Jordan Francois (Brno), Why Cartan geometry in Physics?
  • A. Rod Gover (Auckland), The geometric approach to tractor calculus, and its applications
  • J. Slovák (Brno), Cartan geometry via algebra

These series will display three 50 min lectures each, complemented by two tutorial sessions. The following invited lectures, together with further contributed talks, will complete the programme. All lectures will run in hybrid form, the link to the online stream will appear here.

  • Andreas Cap (Vienna), Induced para-Kähler-Einstein metrics on cotangent bundle
  • Stefan Ivanov (Sofia), Solutions to the quaternionic contact Yamabe equation on the 3-Sasakian spaces and the qc Yamabe problem
  • Boris Kruglikov (Tromsø), Revisiting XOX: Dispersionless integrable systems in five dimensions
  • Valentin Lychagin (Moscow/Tromsø), On equivalence of differential operators
  • Ivan Minchev (Sofia), A geometry of cubic discriminants in 8 dimensions
  • Vladimir Roubtsov (Angers), Kontsevich and Buchstaber polynomials, Multiplication Kernels and splitted discriminants
  • Lorenz Schwachhöfer (Dortmund), Information Geometry in the classical and quantum setting
  • Denis The (Tromsø), On uniqueness of submaximally symmetric vector ODEs of C-class
  • Michail Zhitomirskii (Haifa), Normal forms in local differential geometry

Videos of the lectures are available here.

An outreach even will be organized in cooperation with JCMM on Wednesday afternoon. We shall approach the talented youth in the region with a discussion meeting initiated by the talk: The roles of Philosophy and Mathematics in Physics, by Jordan Francois.

Although the full registration of the participants via the COST portal is running for many weeks already, we still do not know the full details about the reimbursements. Please accept our deep apology, the Brno organizers do their best and we hope to come with full information very soon.

Organizers: Katharina Neusser, Jan Slovák, Jordan Francois
