We are proud to announce that our partner CNRS has been recognized with the Best Poster Award at the 21st International Symposium on Laser-Aided Plasma Diagnostics (LAPD21), held in Saillon, Switzerland, from August 31 to September 5.

The conference gathered around 80 scientists from all over the world, focusing on the use of laser-based diagnostics in plasma research, ranging from low- to high-temperature plasmas.

Within the framework of the BOOST project, Alfredo Marianacci presented his work on Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF) spectroscopy on atomic iodine. His poster introduced a novel LIF excitation scheme, never applied before, starting from an energy level that has been scarcely investigated in the past. This innovative approach opens new opportunities to better determine the intrinsic properties of iodine plasmas, which are central to the development of iodine-based electric propulsion technologies.

The contribution received strong appreciation from the scientific community and was awarded the Best Poster Award in the category of Low Temperature Plasmas.

This achievement highlights the excellent research carried out within BOOST and further strengthens the role of iodine diagnostics as a key enabler for next-generation electric propulsion systems.
