Rethinking Resources for a Sustainable Future in Space: how research can inspire new ways of exploring the universe.
Date: 01 FEBRUARY 2025
Event location: Teatro Diego Fabbri, Forlì
Type: Outreach
We are proud to share that our project coordinator was recently invited to speak at TEDx Forlì, held at the Teatro Diego Fabbri on February 1st, 2024, in front of an audience of nearly 700 attendees. The event, titled ICARO – Non esistono desideri inutili (There Are No Useless Desires), brought together leading voices from diverse fields to share visionary ideas and inspiring stories.
Held on February 1st at the Teatro Diego Fabbri, the event brought together speakers from diverse backgrounds to discuss how imagination and innovation can shape a better future.
The talk addressed the importance of rethinking how we use and manage resources in space, and how this can lead to more autonomous, efficient, and sustainable mission designs. While the talk focused on water as a conceptual example, the underlying message resonates deeply with the objectives of BOOST: developing innovative, sustainable propulsion technologies, such as our rechargeable solid iodine tank system.
Both the TEDx talk and the BOOST project share a common vision — one in which resource-efficient technologies enable new mission concepts, reduce space debris, and contribute to long-term sustainability in space exploration.

We are proud to see our coordinator contributing to the broader public dialogue on the future of space — and how technologies like those developed in BOOST can help make that future more sustainable.
