The University of Bologna applies the national policy against any form of gender pay gap as stated in the Italian Constitutional Chart, art. 37, where it is written: “Working women are entitled
to equal rights and, for comparable jobs, equal pay as men”. Thus, at a specific academic position corresponds a specific pay equal for both genders. To monitor the application of this national policy as well as to monitor its position the overall position in term of gender equality in teaching, research, career progression and leadership positions, UNIBO provides its data per year in its Gender Equality Annual Report. In such document UNIBO also provides a specific index named “University gender inequality index (UGII)”
